History

Joe EschIn 1959, Joseph W. Esch established Esch Insurance Agency in Dodgeville , Wisconsin as a sole proprietorship. He began his career by selling health insurance and in 1965 entered into the property and casualty business.

During his career, Joe served on the board of the Independent Insurance Agents of Wisconsin, Time Insurance, M&I Bank, and Middleton Insurance. He strongly believed in giving back to his community by serving on several committees and getting involved with many of the local service organizations. One of the most memorable events of his career was the Barneveld tornado in 1986.

In 1977, Larry Myers joined Esch Insurance as a licensed agent specializing in all lines of insurance. In 1994, Terry Fischer joined the agency as a licensed agent, in addition to offering investment services. In 1997, Joe retired after 38 years and Larry and Terry became partners of Esch Insurance. At the beginning of 2007, Sandy (Esch) Fischer joined the agency as a new partner and director of marketing. Larry Myers retired in 2013 and the agency is currently operated by Terry and Sandy Fischer.

Over sixty years later, Esch Insurance Agency, Inc. continues to be a respected independent insurance agency that develops quality, competitively priced insurance plans for individuals, families, and businesses.
